English singer-songwriter Adele Laurie Blue Adkins is a member of the genre. Adele acquired a record deal with XL Recordings in 2006, the year she received her arts degree from the BRIT School. In 2008, she released her debut album, 19, which featured the UK top-five songs "Chasing Pavements" and "Make You Feel My Love." With over 120 million album sales, Adele is one of the best-selling musicians in the world. In addition to twelve Brit Awards, an Academy Award, and a Primetime Emmy Award, she has won fifteen Grammy Awards.
