Alanis Morissette

Singer, songwriter, and actress Alanis Nadine Morissette is of Canadian and American descent. Beginning her career in Canada in the early 1990s with two dance-pop albums, Morissette became well-known for her evocative mezzo-soprano voice and candid songwriting. Morissette has more than 75 million record sales worldwide and has received seven Grammy Awards, fourteen Juno Awards, and one Brit Award. Rolling Stone has dubbed her the "Queen of Alt-Rock Angst."
