Baron Lloyd-Webber, also known as Andrew Lloyd Webber, is an English composer and musical theater tycoon. Many of his musicals have played on Broadway and on the West End for almost ten years. He has written two film scores, a Latin Requiem Mass, a song cycle, a set of variations, and 21 musicals. He got his start in music composition at an early age. Additionally, he performed "productions" in his toy theater with Julian and his Aunt Viola. In the spring of 1963, his father registered him as a part-time student at the Eric Gilder School of Music. He had written the music for Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats at the same time as he was working on Westonia!, a musical about Genghis Khan.
