Annie Lennox

Scottish singer-songwriter Ann Lennox is also a political activist and philanthropist. She and her bandmate Dave Stewart went on to have moderate success as the Tourists in the late 1970s before going on to have huge success as the Eurythmics in the 1980s. According to the BBC, Annie Lennox's strong androgynous appearance in the 1983 music video for "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" resisted the masculine gaze. She also wore orange cropped hair and a man's business suit.
