German singer-songwriter Bill Kaulitz, also known only as Billy for his solo work. He is most recognized for his work as the Tokio Hotel's lead singer. Early on, Kaulitz and Tom both shown a desire to sing and play the guitar. Trümper became aware of the twins' musical proclivities and assisted them in forming their own band. In various interviews, Kaulitz said that he and Tom began creating music when they were just seven years old. The brothers started playing live at age 10 in Magdeburg, a city close to their hometown of Loitsche. Although their audiences appreciated them, they only performed at modest venues and were practically unheard of. The twins used a keyboard to cover additional musical sounds as the band was missing a drummer and bassist.
