Cadence Weapon

Rapper Cadence Weapon, real name Roland "Rollie" Pemberton, is a Canadian-American who lives and works in Toronto, Ontario. Pemberton, who was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, released his debut record, Breaking Kayfabe, in 2005 to rave reviews. He subsequently joined with the American record company ANTI-, whose albums Afterparty Babies and Hope in Dirt City were released in 2008 and 2012, respectively. Cadence Weapon was chosen as Edmonton's Poet Laureate in 2009. 2014 saw the release of Magnetic Days, his debut book, by Metatron. In 2018, Cadence Weapon issued a self-titled album. Parallel World, his fifth studio album, was released on April 30th, 2021, and on September 27th, 2021, it was awarded the 2021 Polaris Music Prize.
