A Canadian singer and songwriter, Carly Rae Jepsen. In 2007, Jepsen finished third on the fifth season of Canadian Idol after majoring in musical theater. Tug of War, Jepsen's first studio album with influences from folk music, was released in Canada in 2008. Jepsen's breakthrough track, "Call Me Maybe," which sold 18 million copies and peaked at number one in at least 19 nations, was the best-selling single of 2012. It resulted in record deals with Interscope Records and School Boy Records. Later same year, Jepsen's second studio album, Kiss, was released. It featured the single "Good Time" with Owl City and peaked in the top ten of both the Canadian and American charts.
