Salsa and bolero music were created by Puerto Rican singer and composer Cheo Feliciano. Coche Records, the name of Feliciano's recording studio, was founded. In 1987, he played Roberto Clemente's father in the musical Clemente. He was the first tropical singer to perform at the "Amira de la Rosa Theater" in Barranquilla, Colombia.
