Chillinit, the stage name of Australian rapper and singer Blake James Turnell, hails from Sydney, New South Wales. In October 2018, he made available his first studio album, Women Weed & Wordplay. Turnell's first Australian charting single, "Freedom," which he released as a stand-alone in August 2019, peaked at number 87 on the ARIA Singles Chart. The Octagon, his second studio album, debuted at number two on the ARIA Albums Chart the week after its release on January 31, 2020. "Laying Low," the album's lead single, reached its highest position on the ARIA Singles Chart in February 2020 at position 72. "Susan's Son," the lead single from Chillinit's fourth album Family Ties, was released in October 2021.
