Joel Thomas Zimmerman, better known by his stage name Deadmau5, is a DJ and producer of electronic music from Canada. Under the alias Testpilot, he primarily produces progressive house music, although he also produces and DJs other electronic music subgenres, such as techno. For his work, Zimmerman has been nominated for six Grammy Awards. He has collaborated with DJs and producers like Kaskade, Chris Lake, Rob Swire, and Wolfgang Gartner. He also formed the band BSOD (Better Sounding On Drugs) with Steve Duda and was a member of the ensemble WTF? alongside Duda, Tommy Lee, and DJ Aero. He started his own record company, Mau5trap, in 2007.
