Gordon Lightfoot

A Canadian singer-songwriter and guitarist known for his work in folk, folk-rock, and country music, Gordon Meredith Lightfoot Jr. He is acknowledged for contributing to the development of the 1960s and 1970s folk-pop sound. He is regarded as Canada's best songwriter and a folk-rock legend on a global scale. "His name is synonymous with timeless songs about trains and shipwrecks, rivers and highways, lovers and loneliness," wrote Lightfoot's biographer Nicholas Jennings.
