Gunther Emmerlich

German opera singer and show host Gunther Emmerlich. He is also an accomplished and dedicated banjo player and jazz musician. In Eisenberg, a little village between Erfurt and Leipzig, Gunther Emmerlich was born in the penultimate year of the war, from which his father never returned. When he was eleven, his mother passed away at the age of just 49. Multiple sclerosis was officially listed as the cause of death, but Emmerlich thinks that her husband's loss and her ongoing sadness were other factors. He avoided the orphanage since he stayed with his older brother and sister after his mother passed away.
