A Canadian musician by the stage name Kytami is Kyla Tamiko LeBlanc. She was born in Vancouver, where she received her classical training at the Vancouver Academy of Music from the age of three to seventeen. She began performing in a band at the Dubh Linn Gate Pub when she was 23 years old. She relocated back to Vancouver in 2002, where she recorded her debut album, Conflation. She co-founded the band Delhi 2 Dublin in 2006, however she quit in late 2010 to focus on her solo career. Her stage name, "Kytami," combines her first and middle names. She is of mixed English, Filipino, and Japanese ancestry.
