An American singer, songwriter, and record producer, Luther Vandross (1951–2005) was also a producer. Before releasing hwas solo debut in 1981, he started hwas musical career as a session singer. Vandross was renowned for hwas smooth and soulful R&B ballads, which include successes like "Here and Now" and "Dance with My Father."
