Rapper Masia Lim, also known as Masia One, hails from Toronto, Ontario, Canada and is of Singaporean and Canadian descent. Lim emigrated to Canada at a very young age after being born in Singapore. was raised in Vancouver before relocating to Toronto, Ontario. She studied at the University of Toronto, where she earned degrees in both architecture and economics. She started her own record company called M1 Group in 2003, and shortly after, Mississauga, her debut album, was published. The tracks "Split Second Time," "Return of the B-Girl," and "Warriors Tongue" are among her most well-known. Masia One made history in 2003 when she was the first female rapper to be nominated for a MuchMusic Video Award for "Best Rap Video."
