Rapper and actress Michelle McCullock, better known by her stage name Michie Mee, hails from Canada. She is regarded as a national hip-hop pioneer and was one of Canada's first prominent female MCs. McCullock was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and later immigrated to Toronto, Ontario at a young age. He grew up in the Jane Street and Jane and Finch neighborhoods of the city. At the age of 14, she started her professional career. Boogie Down Productions presented her to the crowd and had her perform on stage at a performance in Toronto in 1985. Later, Michie Mee and DJ L.A. Luv established the group Michie Mee and L.A. Luv. In 1987, KRS-One and Scott La Rock of Boogie Down Productions released the Canadian hip-hop compilation Break'n Out, which included the duo as a featured act.
