Moses Pelham

Rapper, singer, and producer Moses Pelham is from Germany. He founded the Rödelheim Hartreim Projekt in Frankfurt in 1993 alongside Thomas Hofmann. A member of the German band Glashaus is Pelham. 2019 saw Pelham lose a case at the European Court of Justice for unauthorized sampling against the German band Kraftwerk. According to the decision, samples that can be recognized when used without the rightsholder's consent violate copyright laws. If the sample cannot be identified, there is no infringement. The German court remanded the case, and they made the ultimate determination. The German court ruled that the sample might be recognized, therefore Pelham ultimately lost his 20-year legal battle.
