A British-Canadian musician named Nicholas George Gilder originally gained notoriety as the lead singer of the glam rock group Sweeney Todd. Later, he enjoyed success in a solo music career. He began his career as the lead singer of the glam rock group Sweeney Todd, which later featured a very young Bryan Adams for a brief period of time. Roxy Roller, a hit song from Sweeney Todd, remained at the top of the Canadian music charts for three weeks in 1976. It later went on to get a Juno Award in 1977 for "Best Selling Single." Gilder and fellow musician, guitarist, and songwriting collaborator James McCulloch left the group and signed a US record deal because they believed they had a worldwide audience.
