A Canadian actor, comedian, musician, songwriter, writer, and producer named Frederick Allan Moranis. He made appearances in several Hollywood productions during the 1980s, including Strange Brew, Ghostbusters (1984) and Ghostbusters II (1989), Little Shop of Horrors (1986), Spaceballs (1987), Honey, I Shrunk the Kids (1989) and its 1992 and 1997 sequels, Parenthood (1989), My Blue Heaven (1990), and The Flintstones. He also made appearances in the sketch comedy series Second City Television during the 1980s. As a widower, Moranis started a protracted vacation from acting in 1997 to devote his time to his two children. For more than 20 years, he didn't appear in a live-action movie, but he did voice a few animated movies, notably Disney's Brother Bear. He also performed at fan events and put out comedy albums.
