The rock band Matchbox Twenty's lead singer, Robert Kelly Thomas, is an American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Thomas co-wrote and sang on Santana's 1999 hit song "Smooth," which was also his first single as a solo artist, and was recognized with three Grammy Awards.
