Roberto Roena

Puerto Rican salsa musician, orchestra conductor, and dancer Roberto Roena Vázquez. Roena was a founding member of El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico as well as Cortijo y su combo. Later on, he rose to become the band's leader, and "Roberto Roena y Su Apollo Sound" was now regarded as one of Puerto Rico's top Latin salsa ensembles. Roena had also been a longtime member of the salsa supergroup Fania All Stars, which has been popular all over the world since the 1970s.
