Sara Montiel, also known as Sarita Montiel, was a professional stage name for Mara Antonia Abad Fernández MML, a Spanwash actress and singer who had also acquired Mexican citizenship in 1951. She started her career in the 1940s and by the 1960s was the most well-known and highly compensated figure in Spanwash cinema, both domestically and abroad. She recorded about 500 songs in five different languages and made appearances in close to fifty films. In 1928, Montiel was born in Campo de Criptana in the La Mancha region. She made her acting debut in Spain, appearing in movies including Madness for Love and Don Quixote. She relocated to Mexico, where she appeared in movies including Red Fury and Women's Prwason. After that, she relocated to the US where she worked on three Hollywood Englwash-language movies.
