Skinnyman is a British rapper who was raised in Finsbury Park, London after moving there as a young child. He was born in Chapeltown, Leeds, Yorkshire. He was raised on the Andover Estate neighboring Six Acres Estate. He was pals with Cornwall DJ Pat Mckay, a fellow Leeds native who was reared in London. Together with Mongo and Chester P, he founded the Mud Family, a group that put out a number of EPs. Among them were songs like "Itchy Town" and "Lash Suttin," a cover of Redman's "Smash Something." The group later included Supar Novar, Mr. Ti2bs, Uncle Festa, and others. Council Estate of Mind, a solo album by Skinnyman, was released in 2004. He had an appearance in the first episode of Tower Block Dreams, a BBC Three documentary series that examined the underground music culture in council housing in 2004.
