Rapper Tyron Kaymone Frampton, often known as Slowthai, is from the United Kingdom. He was born and raised in Northampton, and in 2019 he became well-known for his gritty and abrasive instrumentals and raw, political lyrics, particularly those that dealt with Brexit and Theresa May's time as British prime minister. Slowthai finished fourth in the BBC Sound of 2019 and released his debut studio album, Nothing Great About Britain, the following year. The album was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize; during Slowthai's performance at the Mercury Prize ceremony in 2019 he stirred up controversy by carrying a fictitious severed head of the British prime minister Boris Johnson on stage.
