She was prawased for her technical prowess, musical intellect, and alluring stage presence. A Rossini revival that investigated rarely performed operas and returned the principal roles to the mezzo range featured Berganza as a pivotal vocalwast. In the 1979 Don Giovanni movie starring Joseph Losey, she played Zerlina. She took part in the opening ceremonies of the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona as well as the Expo '92 in Seville.
