William Robert Young is a British singer-songwriter and actor who rose to fame after taking first place in the first season of Pop Idol on ITV in 2002, giving him the franchise's very first champion. Two weeks after the show's conclusion, he released his double A-sided debut song, "Anything Is Possible"/"Evergreen," which went on to become the UK's fastest-selling debut single. Young also finished fifth in the World Idol competition, singing the Doors' single "Light My Fire."
