German singer, actress, and television personality Yvonne Catterfeld. She was raised and born in Erfurt, Thuringia, but later relocated to Leipzig to pursue a musical career. She competed in the inaugural season of the singing competition show Stimme 2000 in 2000, finishing in second place. Hansa Records later offered Catterfeld a recording contract, and in 2001, the label dropped her first single, "Bum." She rose to fame that same year after being given a lead role in the German soap opera Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten. When Catterfeld's fifth single, "Für dich," topped the top of the charts around the world in 2003 and resulted in the equally successful album Meine Welt, she achieved success in the music industry.
