Rolling Stone published their list of the 200 Greatest Singers of All Time, and fans are outraged that Celine Dion was not included, despite having an incredible singing voice and a lauded, international career as a best-selling singer.
"Before you start scrolling (and commenting), keep in mind that this is the Greatest Singers list, not the Greatest Voices List," the magazine writes early in the piece. Talent is impressive; genius is beyond comprehension. Many of the people here were born with massive pipes, perfect pitch, and an infinite range. Others have instruments that are rougher, stranger, or more delicate."
When it was discovered that Celine Dion was not on the list, fans took to Twitter to demand answers. Other notable omissions cited by fans include Cher, Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand, Luther Vandross, Jennifer Hudson, and a slew of other talented performers.
Billie Eilish is ranked #198, Kelly Clarkson is ranked #194, BTS' Jung Kook is ranked #191, Ozzy Osbourne is ranked #112, Taylor Swift is ranked #102, Michael Jackson is ranked #86, Adele is ranked #22, Beyonce is ranked #8, Mariah Carey is ranked #4, Whitney Houston is ranked #2, and Aretha Franklin is ranked #1.
